Takemura Yoshinori
Takemura Yoshinori(b. 1980, Chiba) is a ceramic artist and conservator based in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture. Trained in woodworking, lacquerware, and cultural property conservation, he has also worked in the restoration of ceramics and lacquer objects. In 2008, he established his studio, Tōbō Daidai, where he continues his practice and teaching.
His work is characterized by vibrant color and sculptural surface decoration. Through layered glazes and distinctive forms, his pieces blur the line between functional vessel and art object, bringing an artistic sensibility to everyday tableware. Each piece is created intuitively and is entirely one of a kind.
The Dalmatian series featured here is especially popular and is also used at a restaurant called Paris Hawaii.
